President's Message
Dear ISBI Members and Friends,
I can’t believe my two-year presidential term is coming to an end. While there has been a lot of work associated with the role, it really has been fun! Fun because the society is moving forward, evolving and working hard to accomplish our mission, “To reduce the global burden of burns and improve burn care.”
Moving Forward, Evolving and Working Hard. This year we saw contributions from the Nursing and Rehabilitation Committees with multiple well-attended free webinars. The Prevention committee is driving their Delphi process to establish a roadmap for burn prevention world-wide. The Research committee launched their Research Questionnaire to burn survivors named “Survey of Scar Advise Among Burn Survivors.” The ISBI will again participate in World Burns Week which is the 1st week of November. This year’s theme is “Burns: Thriving Through a Community of Care.” If you want to read more about each of these activities, you should go to our ISBI website www.worldburn.org.
