Purpose of the Workshop:

The focus of this daylong workshop is to facilitate exchange of knowledge and discussion among healthcare professionals who care for burn survivors around the globe. The workshop format will be small group discussion, demonstration and hands-on activities that focus on patient care beyond the resuscitative phase of recovery. There will be no lectures, slides etc. Hands-on activities, poster/photos and handouts are permitted. There will be five sessions primarily derived from the published ISBI practice guidelines for burn care (https://worldburn.org/education/isbi_practice_guidelines.aspx). Attendees will be able to choose 3 sessions to attend. This pre-congress workshop provides an ideal opportunity to share experiences and learn from both the novice and expert members of the international burn team. 

 

Topics to be offered for ISBI 2022, Guadalajara, MX are:

  • Wound Dressings for the Burn Hand
  • Positioning, Splinting & Mobility
  • Non-Surgical Scar Management
  • Excision and Autografting vs Basic Wound Care
  • Nutrition
                    

Registration for the workshop is free. The workshop will begin promptly at 8:30 AM and conclude at 3:30 PM. A morning break and lunch will be provided.All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

Each of the five sessions listed above will be repeated three times.Please choose the 3 sessions you wish to attend.Sessions are limited to 25 participants at each timepoint to encourage discussion and active participation.
